Photography Information
The cover photo was taken by Ava Spell, my mom, one day at Battlefield Park in Jackson. I was three, lookin' cool with my sunglasses. I remember thinking the elephant slide was really high. The inside photo was taken by Debi Spell in Gulf Shores, Alabama. We were at some restaurant very near some souvenier store, probably the one with the big shark head where I taught Debi the proper way to lose money to that quarter-pushing game. The back cover was taken by Frederick Barthelme who generously let me use it. I'm in love with gas stations, and specifically Shell stations, and specifically at night. The French quote? Think Beck.
This album means a lot to me. I recorded it one one of the strangest nights of my life and there's all sorts of weird stuff going on here. One day I'll be willing to talk about it.
